So... I've been taking a break from getting PEMDAS to version 0.92. To be completely honest, I really hate doing all the graphics and HTML work, so I've been putting it off. I suck, sorry. I'll try to work on it this weekend a little bit.

BUT on the bright side, I've also been working on revising this site, and version 2 (yes, 2) of PEMDAS. I'm working on a couple new features with calculations, so hopefully they'll warrant another version number. It probably won't be released for quite some time, but hopefully by the end of the year.

I'm also getting tired of the current GUI, so I was working on creating a new one. I know a lot of other calculators use skins, but I think they're stupid and just take up space on the widget's back, so it won't have that... it'll just look better. And according to the Apple Widget Guidelines, PEMDAS should be mostly desaturated anyways.

I will also be attending WWDC this year (!!!), so I've been playing around a lot with C and Obj-C. Most of the sessions there focus on applications, and I want to learn some more about how to work with Cocoa. On a side note, if anyone reading this is going to be at WWDC, feel free to drop me an e-mail and we can meet up during the conference some day.

Not many peolpe have been looking at the blog, so I wasn't in a hurry to update it. I released version 0.91 a couple days ago (on July 6), and it featured a number of improvements, mostly with calculations working better. If you haven't already, download it, it's a must-have update.

Meanwhile, I'm working on version 0.92, which is mostly going to be getting the GUI complete. After that it will probably go to version 0.93 to wrap everything up, and then finally version 1 with any bug fixes for version 0.93.

Meanwhile, just to make sure I get ahead of myself, I'm already working on version 2 of PEMDAS. I plan to implement some neat stuff, but I'm not entirely sure how to do it. So right now I'm basically doing figuring out the best way.

In other news, I'm also working on an update to this website. The good news is that it will be a lot nicer. The bad news, for Internet Explorer users at least, is that I won't support IE. They make up 13.1% of the site's visitors, so it really sucks to have that many people miss out. But basically, this is my personal site, I'm not making money off it, and I don't want to waste time supporting an awful browser.

To give you an idea of my point of view, it takes at least 2-3 times as much work between testing and writing more complicated code with tables and other crap instead of just using CSS, and I'm getting pretty sick of how sh*tty IE is. So I'm not going to waste my time with that this time around. If you're on Windows and want to view the site correctly, get Firefox. It's a great browser in general, and it's LIGHT YEARS ahead of IE, probably becaues it's been updated within the past 5 years.

I've just finished rewriting an extremely large portion of the code, and there's just a few loose ends to tie up. I'm quite happy with this new version, and I'm looking forward to getting it out there for you guys to use.

Now, just a note... it won't look much better, but I've gotten rid of every known bug relating to calculations that I'm aware of, so at being a calculator, it's definitely a whole lot better.
